What do our Skin, Coat and Nail Tablets contain?

Green Lipped Mussel - contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for numerous cellular functions. Omega-3s play a role in the maintenance of healthy skin structure, functions and coat. 

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) - an antioxidant with proven anti-inflammatory properties. It has been shown to have high antioxidant capacity, with its main function to neutralize free radicals within the body, protecting cells from oxidative damage. ALA also serves as an enzyme co-factor, involved in numerous essential processes in the body. In addition, it contributes to the repair of damaged proteins and lipids and the regeneration of other important antioxidants such as vitamin E, vitamin C, and coenzyme Q10.

Zinc - an essential mineral, which regulates multiple processes of cellular metabolism. Many of these processes are critical for the maintenance of a healthy coat. For this reason, Zinc is especially important for the rapidly dividing cells of the body, such as the epidermal skin cells. 

Vitamin E - a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant function in the body, which, similarly to ALA, confers protection against free radicals.

Vitamin C - an antioxidant with similar function. Vitamin C is also needed for collagen

production and healthy skin.  

Selenium - a mineral that acts as an antioxidant in the body, essential for the integrity of cell membranes.

Copper - an antioxidant, which is important for the function of many enzymes in the body. Copper is involved in the formation of melanin - the pigment responsible for the dark colour of hair and skin.

B Vitamins - the group of B vitamins are essential cofactors to enzymes, involved in a number of  functions in the body. They are not stored in the body, so daily consumption is important to maintain good health. Sufficient supply of the B vitamins can help support healthy skin and coat.

Methionine - an essential amino acid, involved in a variety of metabolic processes. Essential amino acids are required for the normal growth and repair of body tissues. Methionine also serves as a precursor for other amino acids and can be converted to its antioxidant form.

Ginger - a plant with potent anti-inflammatory effects, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. The main active compounds in ginger are called gingerols.  

Glucosamine and Chondroitin - the two compounds play a role in the synthesis of collagen. In addition, Chondroitin has the ability to enhance the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, while Glucosamine has anti-inflammatory properties.

Calcium and Phosphorus - these are the two most abundant minerals found in the body, essential for the development of growing dogs. 

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) - a compound with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
